Myth-Weavers, an online gaming site that hosts play-by-post roleplaying games, announces the release of a new Star Wars online character sheet as part of its increased support for the Star Wars RPG.

The character sheets include automatic calculation of many statistics and are integrated with Myth-Weavers' sheet-rolling system, which allows players to make rolls in game posts that automatically use the right modifiers. A sample sheet has been made available for the public.

These Star Wars sheets are available free at Myth-Weavers, where membership and game hosting are also free.

BREAKING NEWS: J.J. Abrams to Produce "Trek XI"

J.J. Abrams, producer of hit shows Lost and Alias, as well as director of the upcoming Paramount film "Mission: Impossible III," is slated to produce and possibly direct the next Star Trek feature, according to today's Daily Variety and sources at Paramount Pictures. There is no title as yet for the new movie, but it will be the eleventh in the franchise. (Until a title is selected, we will usually refer to the project as simply "Star Trek XI.")

WotC looks for success in competitive gaming market

The company responsible for marketing successes like Dungeons & Dragons and Magic The Gathering is betting its newest game will develop the same cult-like following.

To make sure Dreamblade, a science-fiction game, hits it big with players, Wizards of the Coast Inc. is backing the game's release with a half-million dollar tournament circuit. That's on top of the $2 million the Renton, Wash.-based company has spent to develop and market the game that debuts Thursday at a science fiction convention in Indianapolis.
